SATISFACTION: NEW MOON IN LIBRA
Mick Jagger couldn’t get no satisfaction back in 1965–possibly because he didn’t make use of that year’s Libra New Moon.
The world since then has evolved: we’re more cognizant that we create our reality. We’re more aware that as the seasons change, so must we. Still, rock ‘n roll is here to stay, which we’ll soon find out on Wednesday’s New Moon and its subsequent two-week waxing moon cycle. We may be feeling punchy and a little wild, but apparently that’s the energy we need for more satisfaction.
Though Libra is ruled by loving Venus, this New Moon features a conjunction by warrior planet Mars, giving us extra oomph, energy, and courage, but this extra gusto must be used carefully and constructively, especially in light of Mercury Retrograde! Be sure to have a healthy outlet for your fiery energy, so impatience and irritation don’t get the best of you.
This October 6 New Moon will also make a quincunx to revolutionary Uranus, resulting in a need to adjust our plans, routines, or behaviors. We would be wise to look at the unexpected that comes up as the — believe it or not — easiest path toward achieving our goals and furthering our expansion and growth. Otherwise, bucking the current might make us nervous, tense, and edgy. Re-label any anxiety as excitement, and utilize the electric energy to light up your life in brand new ways: If last month’s Full Moon in Pisces cycle taught us anything, it’s that sometimes we just have to let go and let God, and when we do, we may just find ourselves on top of a cloud.
In a nutshell, this New Moon will give us extra gusto with some unpredictable events mixed in — leverage both to your greatest advantage: Keep an ever-watchful eye on what you want, where you want to go, and most important, how you’ll feel once you get there: You’ll want to clock the emotional state you’ll be in once you are satisfied (i.e., satisfaction), so that you’re a vibrational match to what you want to manifest. So start feeling satisfied now with the extra energy you’ll have and even the adjustments you’ll have to make, as that will surely get you on the road to more satisfaction. What more could one want from a Libra New Moon?
To see which life area the New Moon in Libra on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 is likely to catalyze, determine where 13 degrees of Libra resides in your astrological chart. Likewise, read your sign and/or rising sign below.
Aries: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Seventh House of Partnerships, you have the opportunity to strengthen the partnerships you’re in, or find some new ones that really punch your ticket. Whether you want a blissful romantic relationship or an empowering professional partnership, the universe is queued up to deliver, waiting for you to be ready. Just keep in mind that Mercury is Retrograde until October 18, so relationships started now may not be the same later. This isn’t to say that relationships started under the retrograde are doomed; in fact, some may even be fated. Just take it slow and try to hold off on any major decision-making until November. With Mercury, the planet of communication, slowing down, it’s the perfect time to get really clear on exactly what you want. Maybe make a list of all the qualities you want in a partner, and then continue with your search! Further, while this New Moon transits your House of Partnerships, some great strides can be made now if you spend some time in the shoes of others in your life: Consider what they need and how you can help. Focus on the energy you’re flowing in your relationships and into your relationship ideals, and roll with the punches with what others do: You can’t control them anyway, and you don’t want to make feeling good contingent on someone else, as that’s a losing game and you, Aries, are a winner, through and through.
Taurus: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Sixth House of Lifestyle, you have the opportunity to get your life running like a well-oiled machine. This transit is typically about “health” and “work” — what we do day-in and day-out, so now’s the time to improve your daily goings-on. If it’s a new job you think would make life easier, slow down a little and think what you might do to make your current job more enjoyable. With Mercury Retrograde until October 18, it may be most advantageous to stay in the job you’re in, as opposed to starting a new one. If you’ve been searching for a job for quite some time, great — now you may find one you like. Otherwise, any new job you get now may not turn out to be as expected. However, if you’re returning to a company you were at before — or have some history with (an interview, for example) — Mercury Retrograde is the perfect time for a redo. Same thing with exercise: It’s easier now to return to a regimen you had in place before, as opposed to starting something brand-spanking new. Further, give yourself the greenlight to do anything you can to feel better mentally. If doing nothing, watching movies, or painting the town red excites you, go and do it! This transit for you is about health, so it’s very important to do the things that make you feel good. With the right balance of things in place, you’ll find everything supports everything else. Start implementing more things into your life that make your heart happy — and your work, health, and everything else will flourish.
Gemini: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Fifth House of Pleasure, true love, play, fun, and creativity will be the name of your game — but what else is new? The Fifth House encapsulates so much of what you really love: romance, good times, and being young at heart, so this should be an especially magical two weeks for you, during which you can plant the seeds for more happiness and growth. Keep in mind, that your ruling planet, Mercury, is in retrograde motion, so all that glitters may be better left in the gutter. Take things slower than usual — especially in matters of the heart — as you don’t want to rush into anything without reading the fine print. It’s best instead to continue things you’ve done before. In romance, in fact, old loves may come back (hopefully crawling). If so, be sure to think back to the lessons you learned with this person, and determine whether or not it’s worth your energy to give it another go. This is such a fun period for you, and you don’t want to attach anyone to the outcome. Over this period, you’ll likely feel really creative, ready to laugh and have fun. Just make it easy and, like Bryan Adams, go straight to the heart! Tune into your heart, tend to it, do what you can do to make it feel good. The energetic field around your heart is way more powerful than the brain, so the better your heart feels, the more energy you’ll have for everyone and everything else. Once you have an idea of what lights you up, prepare to experience it full tilt! These two weeks are perfect for dreaming up love, romance, good times, and whatever else brings a smile across your face.
Cancer: As the Libra New Moon transits your Fourth House of Emotional Security, it’s time to find your “happy place.” This should be easy for you, as your station in the zodiac makes you most capable of achieving an internal sense of security. By now, you’ve probably figured out the impossibility of trying to find something outside yourself to make you feel better. You know that you have to make peace within yourself and where you are now, and from that place of peace, create the emotional atmosphere that makes you feel good. Traditionally, this transit is said to be about your home and family — but of course your true “home” you take around with you wherever you go. Still, if your abode could use some improvements, now’s a great time to renovate and redecorate (anything with the “re” prefix is great to do under retrograde). If you’ve been planning a move, and started your search before September, you may now find home sweet home. Otherwise, unless you hear bells when you walk in the door, think long and hard before settling. Family is also relevant now — your family of choice or of family of origin, whomever’s familiar and comforting. Be sure to spend time with those you’ve been out of touch with, as this relationship-oriented moon is great for rekindling and reconnecting. If family matters come up, as they might this month, be sure to take extra good care of yourself first, as that will make it easier to care of everyone else, as you’re often inclined to do.
Leo: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Third House of Communications, hold on tight, as there may be things you realize now that you had never considered before! This transit is built in with “Eureka!” moments up the wazoo. Whether you find a new hot spot in town, take a class that gets your juices flowing, or just understand your psychology more, you’re bound to be all the better for it. Mercury, as you may have heard, is now retrograde, meaning that from our standpoint on earth, it looks as though the planet of communication is going backwards. As a result, communication snafus, technological glitches, traffic, and other delays are more likely until the 18th of October. This is especially important for you, since this New Moon in Libra is transiting a house that Mercury rules. Thus, be sure to take extra time to complete your work, as mistakes now are more likely than usual. Additionally, if a part of you thinks that something may be better left unsaid, do yourself a favor and hold yourself back. This is a time in which being a bigmouth could backfire bigly, so best to err on the side of caution in exchanges. Further, since Mercury is slowing down from our perspective, this is the perfect time for you to make the most of it. Reframe your past in a way that is empowering. Shakespeare said, “Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so,” suggesting that circumstances are inherently neutral — that we are the assigners of meaning. So the best way you might leverage this retrograde is to re-examine your past from a lens that makes your success imminent.
Virgo: As the Libra New Moon transits your Second House of Values, this is the time to find your sense of self-worth in your self-expression. If your throat has been bothering you, be sure to get off your chest anything you may not have been expressing. This isn’t to say you should throw caution to the wind (expressing that you’re in love with a co-worker, for instance, or telling one to go to hell), but that you have to somehow release the energy in your body that wants to get out! Indeed, you should say your peace, just do so with a bit of caution: Your ruling planet, Mercury, is retrograde until Oct. 18, obfuscating communications, so it’s best to choose your words carefully and assume positive intent before jumping to conclusions. By expressing yourself, you increase your self-worth, which contributes to your financial wealth, another theme of this transit. Money matters now can improve if you put into effect something you had started prior to Mercury’s retrograde (September 27). There’s a lot of fire at your disposal this new moon, so charge ahead with an idea that has reached its time. So long as you roll with the punches over the next few weeks, you’ll make great strides in self-expression, money, sensuality, and the overall quality of your life. This transit for you is also about values, and Mercury Retrograde is the perfect time to reflect on what you truly value at this time in your life. Once you determine your values, you and your throat chakra should be quite happy, as you walk the world exemplifying and expressing the values you possess.
Libra: Happy Birthday! As the New Moon in your sign transits your First House of Identity, you have a chance to start fresh, revitalizing your life with the power of the sun and moon! Now’s the time to think, if you could have anything, what would it be? If you can get comfortable with the idea of having it, you’ll be well on your way. But then, you have to “First-House it.” That is to say, you have to BE a vibrational match to what you want to attract. You have to create an identity that would very naturally have whatever it is you want. To do this, just decide who you are, trust the decision you’ve made, and then act like you trust the decision. If you maintain your decision, by the end of the year, you’ll be able to create whatever you want – just don’t inadvertently revert back to the old you (or the old decision). Perhaps your values have changed since last year; if so, determine what matters most to you now. Then, as you Libras are apt to do, balance: See to it those things that matter most to you are balanced in your life. As you create a new identity this New Moon, you’ll need a look that goes along with it. The First House governs appearance, but before you start swiping your Amex, remember that Mercury is retrograde (until Oct. 18), and all may not be what it seems! You may wish to buy more low-items now, saving high-end, luxury items for when Mercury goes direct (I’d wait until November). Mercury rules vision, so something you think looks awesome, may lose it’s sparkle when Mercury goes direct, so save your receipts. In fact, it might even be best to go through your wardrobe and find some things that look great that you had forgotten about (likely to happen under the retrograde). Likewise, instead of a brand new hairstyle, it’s better to do something you had done before than trying out something different and new. It’s not how you look that matters, but how you see yourself. So do what you can under Mercury Retrograde to be the latest and greatest version of yourself, whose birthday wishes all come true!
Scorpio: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Twelfth House of the Subconscious, you have the chance to instill new beliefs — as THIS is what will change your reality! First you make your beliefs, and then your beliefs make you. So as you gear up for your birthday, use this time to empower your subconscious which, incidentally, is one of the most productive things you can do under Mercury Retrograde! Over the next two weeks, take time to meditate, rest, and turn inward. Dial into how you want your life to be. Tap into the feelings you want to experience. Being ruled by transformative Pluto, there’s truly nothing you can’t be, do, or have. Sweetly, it starts by enjoying yourself, and this is your season! When you start enjoying your life more and doing what has heart and meaning, you’ll start to see things that no longer suit you quite naturally fall away. This is a letting-go and letting God transit for you, Scorpio. Instead of saying “God is in my heart,” say, “I am in the heart of God” (or the universe, your higher power, or whatever). With this in mind, you’ll start to feel even more safe, secure, and at peace, which will help you leverage one of your greatest gifts: your imagination! By visualizing what you want and feeling the emotions you would feel if you had it, you will be calibrating your energy to your desires. Do this now, and by the time it’s your birthday, your conscious life will start to reflect your subconscious (i.e., what you’ve seen in your imagination).
Sagittarius: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Eleventh House of Big Thinking, now’s the time to consider your highest hopes, dreams, wishes and goals. The Eleventh House is the house of “why not?” — why not go after what you want? It’s said there are no “dangling carrots” in the universe, i.e., your desires come with them the built-in, prerequisite ability for their attainment. Granted, there may be adjustments you have to make along the way, but anything you want is truly realizable. See your target, hit your target, NEXT TARGET! That’s your M.O. But since Mercury, the planet of communication, is retrograde until Oct. 18, it may be more advantageous to plan and research, as opposed to shooting off in the forest, aiming for a target you can’t quite see. We’re not thinking as clearly now with Merc Retro, so unless you’re 100% sure of what you want, use this time for discovery — for lighting those proverbial lightbulbs in your head, with a new idea, dream, goal, ideal, or realization. Further, the Eleventh House is also about friends, so this new moon speaks of a new beginning with your chums. Old friends, in fact, (just like your old aspirations) may resurface, and it’s the perfect time to reunite, as you’re likely to pick right back up where you had left off, much more easily than when Mercury is direct. With friends, new and old, you may have to give them the benefit of the doubt and be patient. While rolling your eyes as they change their minds, plans, and personalities, be sure to also roll with the punches as best you can. This is the time to really know what your greatest hopes, dreams, and wishes are, and what it’s like to be — and to have — a good friend.
Capricorn: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Tenth House of Career, now’s the time to achieve more recognition and status. Consider what you want to contribute to the world and what impact you want to have. You’re in an advantageous position to make shifts now, though you must be a little extra careful: With Mercury, the planet of communication, in retrograde, it will be important to tread carefully in career matters, and not break the egg before it’s ready to hatch. Best now to move strategically toward your goals, without letting the winds of change bother you too much. Like the captain of a ship, you’ll need to use the winds to get you to where you need to go — and as you probably have seen, sometimes the universe knows better than we do! In career endeavors, the time is most advantageous to connect with colleagues from the past; under retrograde you’ll find that you can more easily pick up where you had left off. Similarly, if you’re hiring people, it may be best to review those resumes you had received before, rather than posting a fresh new job advertisement to recruit new applicants. Even better, choosing an employee with whom you had worked before would make the adjustment easier than if you brought in a new person. Finally, be on the lookout this New Moon for old lessons in your career repeating themselves — now’s the time you can “re-do” career matters in a way that puts you at the top of the mountain, where you were born to be.
Aquarius: As the New Moon in Libra transits your Ninth House of the Higher Mind, the stars want you to soar, leveraging those ripe opportunities to expand and broaden your horizons. You’re likely to have “itchy feet” now, craving something fresh, new, unfamiliar, and different! But hold your horses — Mercury is retrograde — so no sudden, drastic moves for which your sign is known! Though it may sure be tempting to book that trip to Hong Kong or Paris, perhaps use this time instead to research where you want to go and plan out a trip further into the future, when Mercury is direct. But if you must take off, you may want to return to a place you had been to before, as that will make your trip much more aligned with the vision you have in mind. In addition to research and planning, Mercury Retrograde is great for turning inward, so now is the perfect time to expand your consciousness: Learn spiritual concepts that connect you more with your higher self, or study a foreign language you had wanted to learn before. You’ll want to feel now as if you’re growing and expanding, while at the same time, not taking too much of a risk, due to Mercury Retrograde. The Ninth House also rules publishing, so if you’re a writer, it’s ideal to polish up that old script or novel that you’ve had plenty distance from; it’s much better to revise a work under Mercury Retrograde than to start a new one fresh. You could also use this transit to aspire — the more you aspire, the more places you’ll find to go, both literally and figuratively.
Pisces: “Let go and go with the flow” as the New Moon in Libra transits your Eighth House of Rebirth and Transformation. The only constant in the universe is change; change, therefore, is stability. This lunation will pave the way for change, healing and a new beginning. The question is: How far are you willing to go? The transit you’re going through now doesn’t do half-measures. It’s extreme. Are you in or are you out? While it’s great if you know exactly where you stand on a matter now, if you can hold off on taking any major action, it may be a good idea: Mercury is now retrograde, wreaking havoc on our communications. Therefore, if you’re combining resources with others this month (another theme of this transit), be sure all contracts and negotiations are crystal clear, perhaps even recruiting the help of a lawyer. This is a transit for sharing, but boundaries are also a theme, so it’s important you know what yours are and that you defend or dissolve them. This Eighth House transit is the “death” we go through before the rebirth, as you reach a new level of empowerment. Be sure to flow extra feelings into something creative, spiritual, or selfless. Over the next few weeks, you’ll have an opportunity to become more intimate with yourself and others on various levels. In doing that, a part of you dies off, and like the phoenix rising from the ashes, you’re transformed. As you flow through the next few weeks, give yourself extra TLC and keep a light heart — that’s how you magical Pisces brighten up the universe.
