TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS: SUPER NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN
If you’re into New Year’s Resolutions, you’ll have a serious leg up in 2022: The New Moon in Capricorn peaks on Sunday, January 2— that’s less thаn 48 hours аfter the start of 2022. New moons mark a time of new beginnings, while the energies of Capricorn will give us extra discipline, focus, and determination to pragmatically approach our goals and achieve them.
But the extra grit inherent in the sign of Capricorn has a somewhat grim genesis: From an early age, Capricorns feel a tremendous amount of responsibility. Often, they abandon their dreams prematurely on account of the extra burdens they carry. While some Capricorns may bemoan their fate and deprivation, most don’t settle for a mundane experience. Eventually, they go out and have themselves some fun! That’s why Capricorns are said to “age backwards” or “in reverse” — not only do they usually look younger at 50 than they do 40, but they learn to play, have fun, and express their joyful, childlike side later in life as well.
Irrespective of our signs and charts, when the sun transits through Capricorn we experience a need to control. We’re not inclined to relax, have fun, or take anything for granted. Time and money tend to become our most valuable assets, and energy not put toward practical ends may feel irresponsible and come with built-in consequences. Of course, focus on the material at the expense of everything else may make us feel empty and parched. Thus, during this time, it’s important to move forward with our goals, but to keep in mind key Capricorn lessons:
To let go in such a way that doesn’t result in more problems
To realize that even our work ethic, merits, abilities, etc. are gifts from the light — they don’t come from us but flow through us
To work hard for the good of all, not just for our own personal desires and goals
To understand that material things can bring satisfaction, but do not result in deep, lasting happiness
With Venus Retrograding through Capricorn and close to Pluto, and Mars soon joining the party along with Mercury Retrograde, we will all have to be alert to key Capricorn lessons as mentioned above. At the same time, we must be sure to keep our eyes on the prize: We should consider what we want our lives to look like when the calendar turns to July 13, 2022, as that’s the Cancerian Full Moon, when the seeds you plant this new moon are likely to harvest. That being said, with Venus and Mercury retrograding in Capricorn this January, our best laid plans are subject to change. Therefore, it’s best to create a loose plan that we can adjust as we move toward March; that’s when Venus and Mercury will be at full speed, and we’ll have more information to proceed successfully.
Finally, during the month of Capricorn, it’s important to remember there’s a whole world out there with lots of other people, and we’re connected to them all. The idea that we are all one will become most apparent this year with Jupiter, the sign of expansion, in compassionate Pisces. To make the very most of this Capricorn New Moon, therefore, remember that we’ll find the most joy when the goals we achieve align with the betterment of humanity.

Keep in mind that Venus is retrograde (and soon Mercury will be, too) so the way you love and make money (Venus), and how you think and communicate (Mercury) are under review.
